5 Wild And Crazy Goals For 2025
Embrace ambitious goals for the New Year that will push boundaries and foster professional growth as you venture outside your comfort zone.
As we approach a New Year, I say let’s make Year 2025 a wild and crazy year.
Of course, our definitions of “wild and crazy” may differ.
For me? It’s an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone.
With careful consideration, I've selected the following goals to help me achieve my aspirations in 2025:
Launch a course
Build a community
Roll out multiple mini-newsletters
Post daily on social media platforms
Invest time in educational videos & podcasts
Setting lofty and invigorating goals for the New Year can be a great way to kickstart personal growth and create a sense of direction for the upcoming year.
Let's dig a little deeper into why …
Launch a Course
Why launch a course?
Web-based courses (free and paid), tailored to meet the needs of the respective students, can be extremely valuable and are in important part of one’s career development.
Most offer flexibility in learning schedules, accessibility to a wide range of subjects, and at a lower cost compared to traditional education.
For me, it’s an important part of the process of educating my members, adding value, and building a community.
But your course should not solely be about learning new skills and gaining knowledge.
It should also be a means to connect with peers, build lasting relationships, and become part of a supportive learning community.
Build a Community
I’ve already laid down the ground work to build a community in 2025.
And to attract new members, I will be offering a trial membership.
The benefits of building a community include:
Connection and Belonging - Foster a sense of belonging between like-minded individuals and reduce feelings of isolation.
Support and Guidance - Offer support networks where members can share experiences, offer advice, and provide emotional support.
Learning and Growth - Facilitate learning through shared knowledge, discussions, and collaborative projects.
Skill Development - Engagement can help individuals develop valuable skills such as communication, collaboration, and leadership.
Do you have a group of employees, clients, associates, or peers who could mutually benefit from each other?
Now is the perfect moment to build your own community.
Roll Out Mini-Newsletters
The Year 2024 was a big year for newsletters.
The major newsletter platforms, such as Substack, Beehiiv, and Kit (formerly Convertkit) raised millions of dollars and have valuations that exceed $100M.
The timing is perfect to embrace newsletters.
I’ve grown two very popular newsletters on Substack (The Strategic Networker) and Beehiiv (The Strategic Network)
Their purposes are different but complementary.
The Strategic Networker is designed much like a blog whereas I can discuss my personal experiences, share key insights, and offer advise.
Whereas The Strategic Network serves to connect business communities and engage professionals in local marketplaces. I’ve already launched ten “min-newsletters” that each focus on a local region and I plan to roll out dozens more in 2025.
There has not been a better time to launch and grow a personal or professional newsletter.
Post Daily to Social Media
I've had difficulty maintaining this goal in the past.
Consistent content creation on any platform requires dedication.
To begin with, I plan to keep it simple:
Post each day on target platforms
Post one short-form video a week
Post one long-form video a month
Consistency and posting valuable content is the key to success.
My New Year's strategy centers on providing consistent, high-quality content with a focus on experimentation and adaptability … and to know when to pivot.
Invest in Professional Development
Ok, this seems to be my goal every year.
Continuous learning, embracing technology, and staying abreast of the latest trends are paramount.
Leverage the popularity of free platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts to easily access key strategies and meaningful information.
Continuous learning and growth are essential today.
The Takeaway
As you reflect upon the successes and challenges of 2024, begin to formulate your plans for 2025.
In the words of Chris Donnelly, a prominent LinkedIn influencer:
As we head into 2025, you have to understand this:
Discomfort is the cost of entry.
If you're willing to accept discomfort,
You can grow and change.
But that's a key reason why people don't succeed.
They don't showcase the resilience necessary to grow.
What are your goals for 2025?
Are they challenging?
Exciting?
Uncomfortable?
It’s time to reflect and prepare.
I wish you the happiest of holidays and an amazing New Year!

These are very ambitious goals. I like your idea of building a community. It's such a wonderful way for people to feel supported and understood.
The challenge with building communities is that bigger is not always better. I prefer smaller communities with a sense of intimacy where people can get to know each other.
Once communities start to focus on growing and scaling, they often lose their "personality" and uniqueness.
Good stuff Mike! Here's goals for me in 2025:
1. PRACTICE things that give me a return on energy (I failed at ROE this year)
2. Focus on CREATING investments that give me ROE (my mentor calls these 5th quadrant investments)
3. Get paid per FLOW instead of paid per hour (one type of 5th quadrant investment)
4. SERVE NO MASTER by being the chooser instead of the chaser
5. Continue improving my health and staying active (Turning 46 made that more difficult)
